Description: This paper explores how elderly participants respond emotionally and behaviorally to interactions with an emotionally intelligent android. Findings highlight patterns of trust, comfort, and skepticism that inform the design of socially assistive robots for elder care. Note: This is the author’s version of a paper presented at the International Conference on Social Robotics (ICSR 2025). The final version will appear in Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS).
