***A brief guide to the files:*** **experiment folder:** To run the experiment for group 1 and 2, run multisensoryMainExp1_2.m (for subject group 1 and 2); To run the experiment for group 3, run multisensoryMainExp3.m (for subject group 3); To run some practice sessions for each subject, run VisualMotionDiscrimPractice.m; To run 3-down 1-up staircase to match performance in the visual-only conditions (group 1), run VisualMotionDiscrimStaircase3.m; To run 2-down 1-up staircase on the ratio of the signal sounds to the total loudness, run AudioMotionDiscrimExpStaircase.m; Common folder contains functions that are used by the main experiment codes; *To run the experiments, you need to change the line at the top section of the codes to your current folder. **analysis folder:** To run stats and reproduce figures in the manuscript, run anaData_all3exps.m; Tu run stats and plot figures in supplymentary materials, run anaData_supplymentary.m To obtain individual data, run analmultisensoryMainExp (group 1 and 2) or analmultisensoryMainExp_Exp3 (group 3); functions_ana folder contains functions that are used by the main experiment codes; multisensorydataall3exps.xlsx merges all subjects data from 3 groups for easier analysis, to run analysis for individual subject, go to functions_ana folder:to analyze data for main experiments: analmultisensoryMainExp_Exp1_2.m;analmultisensoryMainExp_Exp3.m; To analyze staircase for visual or auditory- only conditions: anaAuditoryStaircase.m; anaVisualStaircase3.m ***modelling folder:*** To fit visual-only conditions, run modelfitting_visualonly.m To fit multisensory conditions, run modelfitting_multisensory.m To estimate weights for data, run weightestimation.m To estimate weights for the model predictions, run est_weight_for_model.m all3exps contains model fitting results; model_func contains functions that are used. Run all codes with MATLAB(The Math Works, Version 2022a); You need to install Psychotoolbox to run the codes for experiments. contact yi.gao0525@outlook.com if you have any questions.
