Description: The division which brings together R & D and the technical services of the NFB, of which Jimmy Fournier is the director, was mandated in 2008 to implement the digitization of filmic works. The objectives of this mission are to guarantee accessibility, restoration, but also preservation and conservation for future generations, past, current and future works in digital format. Eyes are insistently brought to the NFB for its expertise in the production of interactive works, but also in the archiving techniques developed by Jimmy and his team, which have been praised at international conferences. The NFB’s digitization plan that ensures the durability and accessibility of works integrates the 3 concepts of cataloguing, preserving assets sources and reproduce the experience. It requires expertise and advanced equipment. These concepts have been conceived with a view to applying them to new digital works and event with interactive complex digital content. The session will highlight the concepts, processes and technologies used for interactive digital works.
