Abstract to the article: This study focuses on analysis of crisis communication in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Serbia, and North Macedonia in the 1st, 2nd and the 3rd pandemic wave and takes a comparative pragmatics approach. By focusing on pragmatic features, such as speech acts and discursive/linguistic aspects and communicated values, we examine how the contextual level of the Covid19 crisis management is realised on the linguistic micro-level in political speeches as a salient genre of political discourse. Thereupon we take into account the constraints and affordances of political speeches as a crisis management tool.
