Description: Recent research has found that perceptions of morality play a dominant role in the person perception process, above and beyond other important perceptions, such as warmth and competence. Therefore, we are investigating how perceptions of immorality affect the formation of prejudice towards social groups. Participants will choose an existing social group they perceive as immoral, unfriendly, or incompetent, and then take a measure of explicit prejudice regarding their selected social group. We predict that participants will report higher prejudice for immorally perceived groups than groups perceived as incompetent or unfriendly.
