Wiki Version:
A group of secondary-data analyists convened at the Society for the Improvement of Psychological Science on July 31, 2017. As a group, we agreed that pre-registration is an essential step, even in cases where data are pre-collected. The goal of this project is to agree on a set of commitments that researchers can make regarding the pre-registration of studies using secondary data. The working draft of this agreement can be found here: [Working Draft of Pre-registration of Studies using Pre-Existing Data][1] Also, we hope to keep a list of researchers who helped to develop these guidelines. In the event we formalize these recommendations as a journal publication, these researchers should be able to contribute as authors. If you attended this unconference and would like to be listed as a contributer, please verify that your email is on [this list][2]. If not, please email Sara Weston at weston.sara@gmail.com. The written notes from this meeting are available as jpeg images, available in this OSF project.
