Description: An EMA study. Design: 2x4 mixed design, a 2-level betwenn subjects factor of contraception use (naturally cycling or using hormonal contraceptive) and 4 level within subjects factor of cycle phase (follicular phase 1; follicular phase 2; luteal phase 1; and luteal phase 2). Analysis Plan: Multi-level regression modelling will be used as the data is likely to nest. Level 1 will be the day (“moment”), level two will be phase and level three will be participant. The predictor variables are: group, craving, menstrual symptomology, mood, impulsivity, stress and drinking motives. We also aim to analyse the average consumption between groups and phases, running 2x4 mixed ANOVAs. Missing data plan: If participants miss an assessment we will compute an average for the phase and enter the values as the missing data. We will also take into consideration whether the points were missed on a weekday or weekend due to general population drinking habits.
