This project contains the following: 1. **Our preprint**, which reports the finished project (prior to copy-editing at a journal) 2. **nih_data.csv**, our dataset 3. **Codebook.xlsx**, documentation for the dataset 4. **Registration.pdf**, which describes the background, design, methods, and intended statistical analyses for this project 5. **Materials**, which gives the characteristics of our 48 grant proposals, contains copies of our recruitment materials and other email communications with reviewers, and has copies of the review form and reviewer guides we sent to reviewers 6. **Power analyses**, which contains the files we used to conduct the power analyses necessary to plan the study 7. **Main results**, the file that fits our preregistered model and creates graphs of the results 8. **Supplemental results**, which contains the files necessary to obtain our word count results and the analyses of whether bias varies by PI race and grant proposal topic area 9. **Sensitivity analyses**, which contains the files necessary to test the sensitivity of our main results to alternative model specifications
