Category: Project

Description: This project investigated the profile of impairment on a range of skills relevant to language in a sample of adults with diagnoses of developmental disorders. A large heterogeneous sample of 97 adults was recruited, 65 of which had a diagnosis of a developmental disorder (e.g. dyslexia, dyspraxia, ASD) and 32 of which had no diagnosis. Groups were compared on a range of measures relevant to language, literacy and memory. This was with the aim of establishing whether this 'high functioning' sample of adults with developmental disorders (most of which were university students) nevertheless still demonstrated impairments in areas known to be affected in childhood in these disorders.
