The Smart Protein project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research & Innovation Programme (Grant Agreement No. 862957).
It aims to develop alternative protein ingredients and products for humans which have a positive impact on bio-economy, biodiversity, the environment, nutrition, food security and consumer acceptance.
Nutritious, sustainable, innovative and trustworthy EU-produced protein alternatives are needed more than ever due to the increased demand for protein sources and the need for more resource-efficient production.
