This study was begun as part of the Reproducibility Project: Psychology, but was not completed in time to be included in the analyses. **Original citation.** Cunningham, W.A., Van Bavel, J.J., & Johnsen, I.R. (2008). Affective flexibility: Evaluative processing goals shape amygdala activity. *Psychological Science, 19*(2), 152-160. **Target of Replication.** The target of our replication was the interaction between processing condition and stimulus valence, F(1, 11) = 9.67, p<.01. **A priori replication criteria.** A successful replication would find that those participants in the fit conditions would have higher beta weights than those in the other two conditions (positive stimulus and negative scanning condition or negative stimulus and positive scanning condition). Four beta weights associated with bilateral amygdala activity will be calculated for each participant through these regressions, one for each cell of the 2 (scanning condition: positive or negative) x 2 (stimulus valence: positive or negative) design. These beta weights will then be entered into a repeated measures, by subject 2 (scanning condition: positive or negative) x 2 (stimulus valence: positive or negative) ANOVA. Any participant who moves more than 2 mm in either direction during the study will be excluded, as will any participant who does not know at least 75% of the names of famous people presented to them during the study.
