Description: Data set for the pilot study "The Rammstein debate in search engines" for the RAT community meeting in Hamburg, September 8, 2023. More info at: https://searchstudies.org/rat-meeting The folders contain the following data, divided by five countries (de = Germany, ie= Ireland, mx = Mexico, se = Sweden, us = USA) : - rammstein_news-main_07192023.csv: Main domains of the top 10 search results of Google News from five countries as of July 19, 2023 - rammstein-news-results_07192023.csv: Top 10 search results of Google News from five countries as of July 19, 2023 - study_en_assessments: Assessments of participants from one country (e.g. de from Germany) - study_en_demographics: Assessments of participants from one country (e.g. de from Germany) Brief information about the study design: - Orientation to search engine and media bias research, particularly research on stance and stance bias in the media. - Search queries: "till lindemann", "rammstein". - Evaluation objects: 10 search results x 2 search queries (20 search results) - Search engines: Google News in five countries (Germany, Ireland, Mexico, Sweden, USA) - Number of participants per country: 10 - Evaluation criteria: 101-point scale with labeled endpoints (0 favor female fans, 50 neutral, 100 Rammstein / Till Lindemann.
