Description: In the pre-hospital environment, nurses experience health/illness transitions in victims presenting with signs and symptoms of stroke, using several tools/scales to perform their assessment, such as the Cincinnati Prehospital Stroke Severity Scale, the Rapid Arterial Occlusion Evaluation, among others. Subsequently, they activate referral procedures, promoting health gains for the victims. There are many tools described but they are scattered in the literature, so it is important to map the tools for assessment of signs and symptoms in pre-hospital stroke victims. In this sense, a scoping review will be conducted based on the method proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute, and PRISMA-ScR will be used. The research question defined is: Which are the tools used by pre-hospital nurses to assess signs and symptoms in stroke victims? Study selection, data extraction, and synthesis will be performed by two independent reviewers.
