Description: This study aims to clarify the relationship between arm swing and the energetic cost of walking, and the role of VAM and herein. Therefore, the research question is as follows: “What is the influence of arm swing amplitude on energy consumption during walking, and are these variables correlated with the VAM and GRM ”. To answer this question four hypotheses have been formulated: (1) when arm swing amplitude increases, VAM decreases, (2) when arm swing amplitude increases, GRM decreases, (3) a lower absolute VAM is accompanied by a lower energetic cost, (4) a lower absolute GRM is accompanied by a lower energetic cost. Ten subjects will execute seven trials using a different arm swing amplitude in each: (1) normal, (2) held, (3) bound, (4) in-phase, (5) extra I, (6) extra II, (7) extra III.
