Description: People are increasingly being presented with information from algorithms on which to base decisions within healthcare, finance and insurance, the justice system etc. We are interested in the effects of manipulatable factors (uncertainty cues, institution cues) and relevant moderators (numeracy, trust in science/medicine, etc.) on how such algorithmically-sourced information is perceived, and on how (hypothetical) decisions are influenced by that perception.
