Description: Our original expectation was that the Guilty Strong list would show the most false alarm to the critical lure, the Guilty Weak the least, and the Guilty Medium in the middle. However, our results (see Data) show the opposite trend. This finding is surprising, given that past research with this paradigm had a 7-word strong association activate the critical lure approximately 75% of the time. However, given that our list is new and has not had the same sort of analyses as established DRM lists (e.g., extensive forward and backwards associative strength testing), it is possible that the forward associative strength of each word is different than the backwards associative strength - the strength on which we based our list and expected association strength. Thus, we want to replicate and extend our findings, and will collect another sample with the following changes: 1. We will remove the Chair list controls in order to save on time and cost (the Chair list Strong/Medium/Weak list showed the predicted trend for critical lure activation) 2. We will add a second "Strong List" (labeled Strong2) that contains the 2nd-8th strongest associated list (the "Strong List" contains 1-7).
