BACKGROUND Libraries and librarians across disciplines are increasingly
working to make research more reproducible. This observation served as
motivation for our study. We sought to understand what health sciences
librarians are doing to engage with research reproducibility on their
campuses and beyond. METHODS We conducted eleven semi-structured interviews
with health science librarians from different institutions across the
United States who are engaged in research reproducibility work. The
interviews were conducted via Zoom and lasted about an hour. We took
detailed notes and are applying thematic analysis to those notes to
identify and interpret common threads. We submitted the study to our local
Institutional Review Board which found the study to be no more than minimal
risk and exempt from on-going oversight. RESULTS We are currently in the
process of interpreting the data.. Through thematic analysis, we expect to
learn how health sciences librarians are a) defining and implementing
research reproducibility services, b) assessing these services, c) building
collaborations to support these services, and d) viewing these kinds of
services in the years ahead.
