Description: Our current understanding of exercise physiology is mainly derived through research on men. There is a lack of understanding of female exercise physiology, as well as the mechanisms underlying sex differences in physiological adaptions and performance (Bruinvels et al, 2017). The main goal of the project is to contribute scientific knowledge that can optimize the training response and performance development of female athletes in endurance sports.
