## Cooperative Station Information and Map File ## To map the data within the tables researchers will need the corresponding station location coordinates. These coordinates are not present in each of the data files; however, the following files provide information about the location of the stations where the data was collected. **This component includes:** - COOP-STATE-CODES: a file to associate the data collections with their respective state where the stations are located. (ie: 01 = Alabama) Source: [ftp://ftp.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/inventories/COOP-STATE-CODES.TXT][1] - coop-stations: a text-based list of the coordinates and related information about each of the stations. Source: [https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/homr/reports][2] - coop-stations-layout: a report that explains the codes listed in the above coop-stations list. Source: [ftp://ftp.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/homr/docs/COOP_Table.txt][3] - coop-sod-stations.kmz: a Google Earth file that provides a mapped location for each of the stations. (This can be used in conjunction with the precipitation tables.)
