Description: Abstract Education leads to economic and social development; hence a nation must have a well-defined and progressive education policy. India's modern education system's vision is laid out in the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) adopted by the Union Cabinet of India on 29 July 2020. The current policy replaces the previous policy of 1986. The policy establishes a comprehensive framework for elementary education in higher education and vocational training in rural and urban India. The strategy seeks to change the education system in India by 2040. This article outlines the 2020 NEP, its key features, merits, and guidelines for practice.
