Description: Moderators: Experiment duration: some motivational effects might wear out by time on task. We can test this by comparing ERPs and behaviour from the first and second half of the experiment. Relationship quality: In general, our effects should be moderated by the strength of the couples relationships. We will measure self-other overlap, relationship duration, attachment; self-disclosure, perceived relationship quality, social threat and rewards scale Stopping rules: G-power determined that a sample size of 32 would be sufficient for a repeated-measures would be sufficient to demonstrate an effect of d= 0.4 at 80 % power. We will collect data from 45 participants as data might be lost due to technical difficulties or some participants not making enough mistakes (common with EEG measures).
