Description: Is action language understanding are mapped into the sensorimotor system? In healthy subjects, we found that when the task requires the understanding of the semantics of a verb an “interference effect” takes place whenever the verb describes an action that must be performed with the same effector which has to be used to give the response. In the current project, we found that children suffering from developmental coordination disorder (DCD), i.e. a disease related to the pathological functioning of the motor system, do not show this effect.
