Demonstration of the ***four study sequences in Experiment 2*** ***depicted in Figure 5 of the manuscript.*** The four sequences are a result of the 2 (Degree of change: One- vs. Cross-category change) x 2 (Frequency of change: Low vs. High) between-subjects design.
The videos contain a short version of each of the 4 study sequence in Experiment 2. Each video displays a 3 min demonstration of each sequence. Per video, the first two rows of each sequence are shown (each row consisting of 4 cells, totaling 8 cells, as shown in Figure 5). Per video, a short break at the end of the first row is included. For participants, this short break was a slide with two filler items as distraction from REI Rational-Experimental Inventory (Epstein, Pacini, Denes-Ray, & Heier, 1996; adapted for German by Keller, Bohner, & Erb, 2000). Distraction slide breaks occured after 4 cells (that is to separate cells 4 and 5; 8 and 9; and so on).
