Description: Although the 2022 WMO provisional state highlights a worrying climate situation, there is evidence that individuals continue to adopt dietary behaviors that are not in line with the need to reduce the production of animal-based meals (one of the main emitters of greenhouse gases). With the aim of collecting further evidence of this phenomenon, this project (a structured survey) pursues two main objectives: i.) provide a detailed representation of people’s food choices (measured by the types and quantities of food chosen daily during the year) and quantify the impact of these choices (in terms of greenhouse gas emissions); ii.) investigate the determinants (socio-demographic characteristics but also economic preferences, moral values and beliefs on the environmental problem) underlying both people's actual food consumption (e.g., vegan diet, vegetarian diet, omnivorous diet...) and hypothetical food choices (i.e., people's willingness to reduce their intake of products of animal origin and compensate for this reduction with other food types).
