Description: The aim of the current study is to examine the relationships between insecure attachment, body image disturbance, and disordered eating as they occur in the natural environment by using daily diary methods. More specifically, the purpose of the current study is to explore how state variables of insecure attachment (represented in the current study as state rejection sensitivity, core self-evaluation, and emotion dysregulation) predict body image disturbance and disordered eating. The study will use an ecological momentary assessment (EMA) design and will involve two phases. Phase 1 will be a 15-20 minute baseline online survey. Phase 2 will involve six mini-assessments (which will take approximately 1 minute to complete each) delivered randomly each day between the hours of 9am and 11pm for seven days. We are aiming to recruit at least 80 young women, aged between 18 and 40 years, who own a smartphone (either an iPhone or an Android device).
