Description: This scoping review protocol outlines the plan for this evidence synthesis study. The protocol is informed by the Joanna Briggs Institute's Manual for Evidence Synthesis, chapter 11, and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR). The scoping review aims to determine how online, randomised trials with children have been conducted. The objectives of this scoping review are: (a) to determine what methods and tools have been used to create and conduct online trials with children and (b) to identify the gaps in the knowledge in this field.
