Description: While the importance of interdisciplinary work is widely recognized, getting such work funded or published is often hard. One reason is the difficulty to simultaneously meet the standards of different disciplines, according to which reviewers judge the work. Although a body of work already recognizes this problem, concrete tips and guidelines for people reviewing and writing interdisciplinary articles and proposals are missing. In this session, we first collected common problems in interdisciplinary review of publications and research proposals in the attendees’ experience, and then worked on a number of potential solutions to address these.
