Poster Session B82 (Friday 12:10-2:00 EDT) During the poster session, I will be available through email (tingtingwang@ku.edu),Zoom(https://kansas.zoom.us/j/4054202415)and OSF comments if you have any question/comment! Abstract: Second language learners have been reported to have limited ability to use discourse cues during pronoun resolution. We focus on one such cue, implicit causality bias, examining both English natives and Chinese learners of English with both offline (antecedent judgment) and online (self-paced reading) tasks. The results of the antecedent judgment task showed that learners were sensitive to implicit causality bias, although the bias was weaker for learners than for native speakers. The results of the self-paced reading task showed that the use of IC cues by both groups was modulated by working memory and vocabulary knowledge, suggesting that L2 processing is qualitatively similar to native processing.
