In the preregistration of Part 3 (https://osf.io/2f4qp/), we described a random sampling procedure to select a subsample of N = 200. However, the response rate was very low, which is why we reached a considerably smaller sample after several rounds of contacting participants and matching them to the original data based on an anonymous participant code (N = 78).
Notwithstanding and in line with the preregistration, we present the sampling procedure:
1) We randomly selected participants using the SPSS syntax
2) We did this procedure 10 times. (see SPSS data file)
3) Those 10 subsamples were compared to the original sample via t tests (see Excel file).
The subsample which was most similar to the original sample was chosen to be contacted first via Amazon's Mechanical Turk.
