This component contains materials for conducting this study either on paper or online using Qualtrics. In the study, participants will each receive a standard and control version of the bat and ball problem, replacing the bat and ball with a pencil and eraser or with a magazine and banana. A participants should be randomly assigned to either receive the pencil and eraser as standard and the magazine and banana as control or vice versa. The presentation of these problems should be counterbalanced. The four packets include each of these possible configurations and should be distributed to participants randomly. The Qualtrics file can be imported to your Qualtrics account and randomly assigns participants to one of these conditions. You will need to customize these materials to your lab's replication.
