Description: The purpose of the present study is (1.) to conceptually replicate the findings by Stevenson and colleagues (2012) and Schaller and colleagues (2010), (2.) to modify their methods by using videos and photos as stimuli, and (3.) to further investigate whether the S-IgA immune response differs for different kinds of disgust. For this purpose, our study measures (1.) the changes in S-IgA secretion in saliva and self-reported state-disgust in response to the different video-primes, (2.) approach-avoidance tendencies to faces in varying states of health (the Visual Approach/Avoidance by the Self Task; VAAST; Rougier et al., 2018), (3.) the perceived vulnerability to disease (VTD questionnaire based on Duncan et al. 2009), and (4.) self-reported trait-disgust (Disgust-Scale [DS-R], based on Olatunji et al., 2007).
