Description: In a PC based lab experiment, participants are randomised to an experiment group where mortality salience (MS) is stimulated, and a control group where pain salience is stimulated. A Stroop task using words related to social categorization is administered. Two essays are administered and rated, one presenting a majority and one presenting a minority view of current political issues. Two more essays are administered and rated, one presenting a patriotic viewpoint and one presenting a non-patriotic view. A measure of social inclusion is presented. Finally, a second Stroop task using words related to mortality is presented.
