Wiki Version:
Our series study targeted at exploring the impact of **speed/trajectory** on reading performance on magnitude proportion estimation of **moving donut/bar** charts. Our series study contains: 1st: study1_speed_donut - https://osf.io/km3s2/ 2nd: study1_speed_bar - https://osf.io/9h7vg/ 3rd: study2_trajectory_donut - https://osf.io/9c4bz/ 4th: study2_trajectory_bar - https://osf.io/9c4bz/ The current repository is for the 3rd: study2_trajectory_donut and the 4th: study2_trajectory_bar. Here is an explanation about which file/folder is what. - You can find our study design (or the slides version of our online study) in "Study Design - Study 2 - Trajectory - Donut Chart.pptx" for donut chart study and in "Study Design - Study 2 - Trajectory - Bar Chart.pptx" for bar chart study. We also pasted a link to the online experiment there. - The implementation for donut chart study is in "study2_trajectory_donut_codes.zip", the one for bar chart study is in "study2_trajectory_bar_codes.zip". We offer you a read me file to let you know how to run or duplicate our study and go to where to find the recorded answers. The frame uploaded here does not contain our own experiment's results, the log folder is empty. - Please find study results in "study2_trajectory_donut_results.zip" for donut one and in "study2_trajectory_bar_results.zip" for bar one. Their analysis scripts are in "study2_trajectory_donut_AnalysisScripts.zip" and "study2_trajectory_bar_AnalysisScripts.zip". To compare across the representation, please run the analysis scripts in "study2_comparing_trajectory_AnalysisScripts.zip". We provide again a read me file to let you know how to run the analysis scripts. - You can find our pilot results in "study2_trajectory_donut_pilot.zip" and "study2_trajectory_bar_pilot.zip". - You can find our trajectories used in both studies in "Trajectories.zip". We provide CSV files and galleries as well. - "study2_participants_survey_collection.zip" contains study2_trajectory_donut and study2_trajectory_bar's general information of participants directly exported from Prolific, including gender, age, etc. It also contains a collection of survey results of study2_trajectory_donut and study2_trajectory_bar. - "comparing_trajectory_plots.zip" contains the plots for comparison between representations (donut/bar). - "strategy_coding.zip" lists all strategies received in four experiments and contains our strategy coding. *The following folder is used in pre-registration.* - "Stimuli examples" contains examples of stimulus that we used to explain the main task in study2_trajectory_donut and study2_trajectory_bar.
