Description: In the current project we pre-register two binocular rivalry (BR) experiments aimed to test the effect of value and arousal on conscious visual awareness. The first experiment (Started in mid-2017, completed early 2018) - tested dominance of high versus low value and high versus low arousal competing stimuli taken from the International Affective Picture System (IAPS; Lang, Bradley, & Cuthbert, 1997). The Second experiment (Started March, 2019) aims to replicate the findings of the previous experiment using a wider more diverse stimuli-set from the IAPS dataset. All pre-registration details are summarized in the pre-registration documents.
