Description: The goal of this project will be to provide new insights into the measurement of openness to experience. There are a number of scales used to measure openness to experience but the coverage of the openness to experience construct differs depending upon which scale is used. Thus, one aim of this project is to uncover the specific dimensions each scale measures so that researchers can make more informed decisions about the scales they use. Another goal is to uncover the taxonomic structure of openness to experience without imposing latent variables. To do so, network analysis accompanied by a community detection algorithm (walktrap) was applied. Next, an qualitative analysis of the core items and item composition of the facets were used to identify Openness to Experience facets.
