Description: Data extraction in systematic reviews involves developing and piloting data extraction forms and extracting data from primary studies into the forms for further analysis and synthesis. Current guidance provides limited or incomplete methodological advice about how to approach it (https://doi.org/10.1186/s12874-021-01438-z). The methods and processes of data extraction used in systematic reviews are often not reported in detail by authors (https://doi.org/10.1186/s12874-021-01438-z). This survey aims to advance the understanding of current practice, reviewer opinions, and the needs around further methodological research.
