Description: START-EDI reporting guidelines will provide a list of minimum items that should be reported by healthcare researchers, ensuring that diversity is incorporated in essential areas such as research design, data collection, public involvement, dissemination and impact. These reporting guidelines will be a universal, generic toolkit which can be adopted for clinical prediction model studies, diagnostic accuracy and efficacy/effectiveness studies. We anticipate that the guidelines will promote greater transparency and completeness in research and therefore benefit clinicians, journal editors, patients, healthcare providers, policymakers and other key stakeholders.
