Wiki Version:
This will be a “natural experiment”. All variables will be assessed in the same fashion as in Study 1. That is, after having received an e-mail with a link to the online questionnaire, participants will be asked to participate in a marketing research in cooperation with a housing realtor, assessing how people perceive houses. Next, their questionnaire will inform them about the procedures of the questionnaire and ask for their consent to participate. The questionnaire contains an NFA-scale (the same scale as being used in Study 1) and a part measuring perceived communality and attractiveness of the participant's house. The NFA questionnaire and the questionnaire assessing the house will be counterbalanced. Following that, we ask whether they know the current value of their house (if yes, what it is, if no, what they would estimate it at), how long the participant has been living in his or her current house, and if the participant is looking for another house. In the demographics part, we then ask for participants' postal code/municipality. Finally, we will ask them to estimate ambient temperature, before we thank them for cooperation. We will then send all participants a debriefing form after all data are gathered.
