Description: In this project we investigate the emergence of novel orthographic representations and their resistance to distortion. We compared the priming effects of printed vs. distorted primes in a masked same-different task before and after a 5-day training with a novel alphabet. In addition, a standard same-different task assessed emergence of transposed-letter effect, a marker of orthographic processing.
