Wiki Version:
The summary data and code here relate to the article: "*Sporadic, late-onset, and multistage disease*", by A.J. Webster and R. Clarke. The compressed folder contains code and summary data. Once the files are downloaded and uncompressed, then Figures 2 and 3 can be produced from the code in 7-Figures-MS/7-FinalFiguresMS The setwd() at the top of each of the two files should be changed so that it is the directory that contains the folders 0-SummaryData etc, then the code will run, and produce the figures etc. You will need to install any necessary extra R packages to be able to run the code. The summary data used by the codes are R-code RDS files, that are stored in 0-SummaryData. The directory also contains csv files with tables of the raw summary data (untested for goodness of fit etc), ranked by "sporadicity vs late-onset", for each of the different models used to fit the data. The unadjusted fits are in the files: "sporadicRankW.csv" (Weibull) and "sporadicRankNSM.csv" (NSM). The raw summary data for the adjusted Weibull fits are in "adjustedWfits.csv". The codes test the data in these files for goodness of fit etc, and produce the figures. Note - folder was updated on 22nd July 2023, to remove some old (unrelated) code that should have been deleted previously.
