Description: Sedentary behavior is associated with mental and physical disorders. To better understand temporary determinants and consequences of sedentary breaks, cognitive and affect-related parameters in particular should be investigated on an intraindividual level using Ambulatory Assessment (AA) methodology. Central questions of this project aim to investigate, using a newly developed within-person encouragement design (WPED), the causal effect of sedentary breaks on the parameters of affective states and working memory in everyday life.
