## Project Overview This OSF project is intended to facilitate the replication of the analysis presented in the paper "Reference Dependence, Expectations and Anchoring in the Becker-DeGroot-Marschak Mechanism," published in Theory and Decision. The repository contains all necessary data, scripts, and documentation to reproduce the findings of the study. ## Contents The repository contains the following files and directories: - `RCode.zip`: A directory containing an HTML file with the R code along with supporting files (R code_files folder) needed to display the html file properly. Download the zip file, unzip and open `R Code.html` to view the annotated code. - `tet.dta`: The main dataset used for the analysis, stored in Stata format. - `README.md`: README file. ## Data The dataset `tet.dta` contains experimental data used in the analysis. This data is essential for reproducing the results presented in the paper. ### Dataset Variables - `id`: A unique identifier for each participant in the experiment. - `BID`: The bid amount placed by the participant. - `treatment`: The treatment group to which the participant was assigned. - `male`: A binary variable indicating the gender of the participant (0 = male, 1 = female). - `hsize`: The household size of the participant. - `Age`: Participants Age. - `education`: The education level of the participant. - Levels (4): - 1: 1st year - 2: 2nd year - 3: 3rd year - 4: ≥ 4th year - `income`: The relative economic position of the participant. - Levels (5): - 1: (Very) Bad - 2: Below Average - 3: Average - 4: Above Average - 5: (Very) Good - `department`: The department to which the participant belongs. - Levels (6): - 1: Biotechnology - 2: Economics - 3: Natural Resources - 4: Animal Science - 5: Food Science - 6: Plant Science ## Analysis Scripts The main replication file is the `R Code.html` file, which contains the code used for the analysis, including visualizations and statistical tests. It needs to be in the same directory with the `R code_files` folder. ## Contact For any questions or issues, please contact the corresponding author: - Vassilopoulos Achilleas (avas[at]aua.gr) Thank you for your interest in our research!
