Description: To determine the reproducibility of psychological meta-analyses, this project focuses on the prevalence of reporting or computational errors in 500 primary study effect sizes drawn from 33 published meta-analyses. We check whether corrections of primary study effect sizes and outliers alter the overall results of the meta-analysis (estimates of the mean effect, confidence intervals, and heterogeneity estimates). Additionally, we study the effects of outlying primary studies, signs of publication bias, and possible dependent effect sizes within meta-analyses, and we document if and how the meta-analyses deal with these issues.
