Description: Cataract removal surgery is the most commonly performed surgery in many developed countries at an astronomical annual cost. To this end, access to second-eye cataract removal surgery (SES) is being limited in some areas. This is despite limited knowledge and evidence of the effect of this procedure, or preventing access to this procedure, on the motor system. It is, therefore, the aim of the authors to synthesis our current knowledge of this topic with the aim of identify gaps in the literature to guide future research.
