Description: In our study, we explore how scientific colonialism and socio-economic factors (e.g. GDP, education, security, and English proficiency) affect the global distribution of fossil data. We use scientific publication and geographic data from the Paleobiology Database (www.paleobiodb.org), a publicly accessible database used widely by the palaeontological researchers to investigate past biodiversity patterns.
