Description: Greater Sydney Area Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (GSA-HEMS) undertake endotracheal intubation (ETI) in both the pre-hospital and hospital environments in a significant sub-set of patients. Data on these interventions are available from sources such as the clinical record, an electronic database completed on return to base following missions, and the enterprise imaging repository (EIR). Whilst quality assurance activity is already undertaken, bringing these data together in a single data-set would allow enhancement of understanding of this group, improving the ability to benchmark against recognised standards of care, and in turn to drive improvements in clinical practice.
