Description: Using data from a representative sample of over 2000 adults in Germany from the German Socio-Economic Panel Innovation Sample’s 2020 wave, we will study how the self-employed and managers differ from other paid employees and from one another in terms of their cognitive reflection, keeping other factors constant. In particular, in an exploratory extension, we will control for overestimation and overplacement in cognitive abilities.
