Description: Data related to public and community libraries is limited in many countries within Africa. This hampers the development of the public and community library sector in those countries while also limiting the opportunities for partnership with other community-based or civil-society organizations (CSOs). Working in partnership with the African Library and Information Associations and Institutions (AfLIA) and African library sector to build infrastructure, organizational capacity, and interest in the collection, use, and analysis of data related to libraries and their impact on communities. Benefits include assisting libraries in developing relevant programs and services for their communities, increasing libraries visibility as partners outside of the current scope, and allowing libraries and their champions to utilize data to advocate on their behalf through effective use of data.
