Wiki Version:
The Teacher Compensation Models and Advanced Teaching Roles (ATR) program is designed to give more students access to highly effective classroom teachers. The program also seeks to build a career ladder for teachers to have more leadership responsibilities and increased pay, all while remaining in the classroom. The goal of this evaluation is better understand the implementation and impact of ATR on students, educators, and schools. To examine implementation, we will examine data from interviews, observations, and documents related to ATR schools. We will also survey ATR teachers to better understand their experiences with the program. To examine impact, we will analyze statewide longitudinal, administrative data on student achievement in ATR schools. We updated our pre-analysis plan on 06/30/2023 to include an analysis that using difference-in-differences models that are robust to staggered treatment timing. This aligns better with currently methodological recommendations.
