Description: This dataset contains all files related to analyses for the manuscript "Picky predators and their prey: how climate change may impact a ptarmigan specialist". It describes gyrfalcon diet and feeding behaviour from 12 successful nesting attempts in Lierne municipality in central Scandinavia, between 2018 and 2023. It also contains long term monitoring data on gyrfalcon territory occupancy and reproductive success between 2012 and 2023 in North Trøndelag, central Scandinavia. Also, there is data on ptarmigan densities from the same regions from the years 2009-2023. Finally, local daily weather data (temperature, precipitation and snow depth) are included. These data were used to analyse diet and feeding behaviour of gyrfalcons in relation to weather, quantify their functional and numerical response in relation to ptarmigan densities, and how gyrfalcon reproductive success and territory occupancy are related to local weather conditions. All R-code used for the analyses in the manuscript have also been included.
